Hello friends, relatives and that dude from Slovenia who randomly found his way here (you know who you are).
As I've mentioned, I've done a bit of writing over the summer so far, so as a New Year's present I'd like to share with you an excerpt from a work-in-progress impermanently called Queen of the Mountain, set in Ara, the most detailed universe I've ever come up with. In this excerpt, Lórena, one of our story's heroes, is desperate to escape the luxurious villa she has been confined to in order to, quite simply, have fun. I'll admit, not much does happen; it's pretty much just a set-up scene. But hopefully it'll leave you wanting more.
The link to the excerpt (on Google Drive) is as follows:

In other news, I'm going to compile a little summary of the expansive world outside Lórena's villa. I don't quite consider this world a "fantasy" one, as there's no magic in it. Just a made-up animal or two, and of course several very distinct civilisations based loosely on places in our world. The isles of Uross, for instance, are a harsh cross-breed of Viking and Spartan, while the Zeyfir Empire seems very Middle-Eastern, but reeks of Roman decadence. It's been fun making up all of the languages and cultures of these places, so stay tuned for more info.
If that didn't bore you to death, I look forward to hearing what you guys have to say in the comments here or on Facebook. Have a great 2015, everyone!
